Dr. Kim is an active fisherman and hunter who fell in love with Alaska during his first trip to the state in 2007. He was born in Muscatine, Iowa, and completed medical school at the University of Iowa, Carver School of Medicine. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at LAC-Harbor UCLA Medical Center and his Gastroenterology fellowship at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences he has been in practice in Downey California for over 25 years. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology

Dr. Kim is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology

He started his half time practice in Kenai in January 2018 and joined Capstone Clinic, Kenai in January 2020. His style of practice is to sit down with his patients and take enough time to thoroughly address their problems.

Dr. Kim loves the people of the Kenai Peninsula and has bought a home on the Kenai River. He also plays golf, bicycles, skis, off-roads and has traveled by motorcycle throughout this great state. He has 2 grown children, who both attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and live on the east coast but share their father’s love for the outdoors and traveling to Alaska.
